On behalf of the Salem and Keizer Chambers of Commerce, the Salem-Keizer School District, and E3: Employers for Education Excellence, we want to thank you for your interest and encourage you to take the next step in support of our community’s youth.

There are a number of ways for you to get involved in Ready to Learn – Ready to Work and make a difference in a student’s future. This website is designed as a toolbox for employers with information and resources to answer your questions and help you get started.
Everyone has a role to play to help students succeed. Research shows community involvement in schools helps improve students' attendance, grades and graduation rates. Employers have a unique role to play in supporting the academic success of our students – they bring expertise, resources, and employee volunteers to the challenge. Throughout our community, employers are increasingly allowing their employees to work with students, working with students themselves, and bringing students into their place of work to help them understand that what they learn in school is relevant to the workplace.
In 2004, the Salem and Keizer Chambers of Commerce, the Salem-Keizer School District, and E3: Employers for Education Excellence partnered to create Ready to Learn - Ready to Work to help prepare our students for the demands of the workplace and college. Through work-based learning experiences ranging from job shadows and internships to workplace tours and classroom presentations, employers are helping to make lessons come alive. Students are learning first-hand about the skills, attitudes and education required by a variety of careers. They are building a vision for their future.

Join us today and help Salem-Keizer students become Ready to Learn - Ready to Work.
